“Firewalls, IDS/IPS and UTM” talk at Radware workshop

Radware and CESCA are jointly organizing in Barcelona a workshop titled “Improving Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS) through Fuzzy Logic” that will provide a security review about IPS and specially about how DefensePro approaches it. Carmen Navarro, Ivan Puig and Francesc Rovirosa will be the main speakers. I will be giving the introductory talk called “Mom … what does a FW, IDS/IPS, UTM do?” to give a brief overview about protection systems.

ESNOG, España Network Operators Group will celebrate their 2nd technical meeting next 16 of October at CESCA’s facilities with the participation of cutting-edge speakers such as Joao Damas from ISC and Michael Behringer from Cisco Systems. I will be giving a talk titled “Internet Pirates: Blackholing, Hijacking and other dirty tricks”.

“CERTs and their evolution” panel at RedIRIS conference

RedIRIS organizes its annual community conference in Logroño (Spain) where a panel about Computer Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) titled “CERTs and their evolution” will be delivered by manager of several security teams such as Manuel García-Cervigón from esCERT-UPC, Enrique Diaz from NATO CERT and Juan Carlos Güel from UNAM-CERT. I will participate on this panel as incident response manager of ERIAC (Anella Cientifica incident response team).
